Kaelin and Tyler's elegant Washington, DC wedding, which began at a Georgetown church dating back to 1867 and ended at Arlington's best view of the city, seemed quite fitting to share with you on our nation's most star-studded weekend. After the requisite hair and makeup, it was off to the Potomac River waterfront church on a beautiful Summer day.
As always, I have to thank my wonderful assistant photographer Eddie Kyle who helps make covering weddings like Kaelin and Tyler's possible.
Happy Easter! I promise my next posting will NOT be car related. I have several sets of pictures in the pipeline that simply cannot be posted yet.
It's been about 2 months since I've been to Katie's, and it's only the second time I've been with the new ride. Spring has finally arrived, and that means the crowds are getting bigger... but so far it's not like last year where Katie's was overrun (that's probably coming again this Summer... although I really hope not).
My car got some looks, a few pictures... until the Speedster parked next to me, and then the neon green Huracán kitty-corner... but that was later on. LOOK AT ALL THE PEOPLE LOOKING AT MY CAR!!! I'M BEING NOTICED!!!........
Everyone was totally into my car. Totes magotes.
I'm pretty sure I was one of those cars there that people aren't quite sure if I'm there for the show or the shops. Like that random Cross Cabriolet that shows up sometimes... or the completely stock Odyssey that has its hood popped... okay, he was just trolling hardcore.
Anyway, this was the first show I've attended this Spring, and it was a lovely morning for it, with a great new selection of arrivals.
I chose to use my 90mm Tilt-Shift this weekend, as it's my least used lens, but still one of my favorites.

Recently I shared some of the portraiture I shoot for professional clients and commercial marketing campaigns. But what about the other half of that equation? In addition to portraiture and various press events, I photograph a large volume of product and storefront photography for marketing purposes at both Dulles International and Reagan National airports.
Last week on my Facebook Page, I shared a Behind the Scenes photo of a product shoot featuring Spartina 449 handbags. These product photographs are quite similar to last year's Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company shoot, however this set is intended for use as dustwall graphics for upcoming stores during renovations periods, in addition to regularly ongoing marketing campaigns.
This sort of imagery continues inside many of the retailers; notably, Estée Lauder has an equally bright and modern storefront and display.
Both airports feature luxury brands. Most have opened in the past year, and my photos are used by both airports for their promotion.
I am not limited to retailers either - restaurants and eateries get just as much attention.
All new concessions and restaurants have ribbon cutting ceremonies; oftentimes the grand opening is a major event, including guest speakers and performances.
Not only are my photos used for promotional campaigns, but at major events, placards summarizing newly opened and soon to open retailers are on display featuring my photos.
An airport wouldn't be an airport without newsstands and book retailers, and I take photos of them as well!
It's just further demonstration of why I love photographing for DC's local airports - everyone who asks me about my airport photography simply assumes all I do is photograph aircraft, but upon explaining the body of work above, they always leave surprised and better informed - it's a side of every airport that few people ever think about, yet is so often taken for granted.
Sarah and Brigham were married on a lovely May morning - this was the first Spring wedding I've ever shot at the Washington, DC LDS Temple, and I have to say that it was the most beautiful I have ever seen the Temple, between the bountiful tulips and the perfect gold morning light shining through the freshly blossoming trees.
Since there was plenty of time before their wedding, Sarah wanted to surprise Brigham in her dress, and capture his reaction to his first look at her.
It's been a few weeks since I've been to Katie's; last weekend I shot an awesome wedding. This weekend brought in a cold front, which, predictably, kept some folks from coming out. While eating breakfast inside Katie's you could overhear conversations; "Ive put the Ferrari away for the Winter, so I just brought the Porsche." The weather today was cold and blustery; it made for a short show, as most people gathered inside for coffee, and promptly left, avoiding the 35°F cold + wind chill... all while yesterday it was 65°F.
There was also this guy drove up to me in his Daimler and asked me if my camera records sound. I said, "it can" and proceeded to record him as he drove off. Not sure what that was all about... but hey, if you find this video, here it is!
